SPREE Seasonal/Internship Job Information

Title: Environmental Education Leader
Supervisor: Jolon Clark
Work Hours: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday-Friday
Beginning & Ending Dates:  Spring –February 23rd - May 31, Fall – August 25 – November 30
Pay/Compensation:  $10.00/hour

Job Concept
SPREE (South Platte River Environmental Education) is a program that takes K-5th grade students out of the classroom and to South Platte River in Denver.  While on the river, the students have an opportunity to explore in a hands-on setting.  Some activities include panning for gold, learning to identify different trees, and searching for animals in the river. Participants will be trained to lead K-5th grade excursions along the river.

Skill Requirements
Must be interested in working outdoors and working with K-5th grade students.

Physical Job Requirements
Some tours cover more than two miles walking, and many tours involve getting into the river.

Other Job Requirements
Must have reliable transportation.  Must also be available to work during the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm Monday- Friday. 

Job Responsibilities
Intern will be trained to lead various tours along the river with different age groups.
